12/3/2011 – Moor End Common

Chips
On 12th March we bagged woodchips from felled trees and spread them along public footpaths on the Common where the going gets boggy. We also placed cut logs each side of the footpath to keep the woodchips from spreading. Part of the group cut back small willows growing into a sluggish stream and raked out fallen debris. By the end of the session the stream was happily trickling again. (Julia 14/3/2011)
